From September 2 to 8, the Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society (LAWCS) participated in the #AfricanRestuarantVeganWeek, joining local stakeholders to promote veganism, raise awareness about farmed animals and highlight the benefits of plant-based nutrition. Through this initiative, LAWCS served plant-based meals to schoolchildren and community members, educating them on the importance of compassionate food choices and the health and environmental benefits of a vegan diet. The effort aligns with LAWCS` mission to foster empathy toward animals and advocate for sustainable lifestyles in Liberia.
LAWCS is also collaborating with restaurants in Monrovia to introduce vegan and vegetarian options on their menus, encouraging a shift toward plant-based food consumption in Liberia. By raising awareness about the suffering of farmed animals and advocating for ethical food choices. LAWCS aims to reduce the demand for animal products and promote more sustainable food systems. This ongoing commitment to plant-based living seeks to improve both animal welfare and environmental sustainability, inviting more people to join the movement for a compassionate and healthier future.
