On Monday, August 26, LAWCS joined global efforts to honor the invaluable contributions that dogs make to families and communities. LAWCS celebration not only highlights the loyalty and companionship dogs provide but also serves as a critical platform to address the pressing issues of animal welfare in Liberia including neglect, abandonment, inadequate feeding, lack of veterinary care, and the consumption of dog meat.
The celebration was featured on three radio stations and various newspapers. LAWCS team visited various families and showcased heartwarming stories through interviews by journalists with those who provide exceptional care for their dogs.
